SOMEWHERE, STILL — SS/001

Somewhere,
                Still

A SENSORY ARCHIVE  ↓

SOMEWHERE, STILL — SS/001

You've been here before

Some memories come back all at once.

Others find us in pieces—a familiar scent, a song we haven't heard in years, the taste of something we forgot we missed.

Somewhere, Still is an exploration of the five senses and the strange ways they hold onto the places, people, and moments we thought we'd left behind.

Look. Listen. Taste. Breathe it in. Feel it.

You might end up somewhere you've been before.

I — SIGHT

Close
your eyes.

Picture a dinner you still remember.

Who sat across from you?

What was on the table?

Was the room dark?

Were the candles already burning low?

You haven't been at that table in years.

So why can you still see it?

II — SOUND

Don't think.
Just listen.

The song you played until you hated it.

The voice you'd recognize anywhere.

The sound of someone coming home.

You heard it once.

You've replayed it a thousand times.

III — SMELL

Untitled design (45).png

Scent
arrives first.

Perfume in an elevator.

Rain hitting hot pavement.

Garlic from an open window.

Smoke clinging to a jacket.

And just like that, without permission—

you're somewhere else.

It leaves last.

IV — TASTE

It
lingers.

Birthday cake when you were eight.

Salt water on your lips.

The drink you ordered all summer.

Something your mom makes that never tastes right when anyone else does it.

You can almost taste it, can't you?

What was on the table?

V — TOUCH

The body
remembers.

The side of the bed you slept on.

A hand at the small of your back.

The sting of jumping into cold water.

The last hug before someone left.

You don't have to remember it to remember how it felt. Was it warm?

So, where did you go?

You weren't asked to remember any of it. You did anyway.

A person.

A place.

A night.

A sound.

A taste.

A feeling.

Somewhere,
               Still

YOU LEFT.
NOTHING ELSE
DID.
